The creative g500 speaker set will cost £199.99 when it launches later this month.

The flagship model will be the GigaWorks ProGamer G500 speaker system that has been designed to complement Creative’s new range of Sound Blaster X-Fi sound cards. The speaker set is THX certified and delivers 5.1 surround sound to dedicated gamers. The speaker set also offers 310 Watts RMS of power. The ProGaming satellites have 3-inch full-range drivers and Flared DynaPort™ technology for extended mid-to-high frequencies.

The ProGaming subwoofer combines a huge 8-inch, front-firing, long-throw driver for low-frequency performance and Twin Flared DynaPort technology for what Creative say will offer a cleaner, bigger, and more evenly dispersed bass.

The subwoofer incorporates an auxiliary input for use with an MP3 or other music player, enabling users to enjoy their own music. Other system features include Creative’s CMSS™ function for up-mixing stereo inputs to 5.1, while the PowerTouch™ wired controller incorporates a headphone connector, mute, and independent level adjustment for the five satellites.
